Life's value reduced to just a dream,

People chase the almighty dollar sign,

Forgetting what makes life truly fine.

They calculate every single cent,

Believing money is all that was meant,

Their hearts and minds consumed by greed,

Ignoring the things that they truly need.

Their conversations revolve around cash,

Their friendships based on who has the most stash,

But in this game of wealth and gain,

Their humanity starts to wane.

They measure success in bank account size,

Ignoring the beauty of clear blue skies,

For in their eyes, only money talks,

While compassion and empathy take walks.

They buy and sell without a thought,

Their moral compasses all but lost,

In a world where everything is sold,

Their souls, by money, are controlled.

So let us laugh at those who always calculate,

For in their pursuit, they seal their own fate,

Life's richness can't be bought or sold,

True happiness lies in hearts of gold.
